Man your own jackhammer, man your battlestations! Hold onto your favorite stuffed animals. We're going to need a fresh pair of underwear for this one, boys. It's been a long week. I counted roughly 9 days since the last update, but I only have 4 fingers and a 3rd-grade certificate in mathematics.
We out here battling demons this week, lads. I've been moving keyframes with annoying levels of discrimination, like a man who thinks if he just puts a nice plant in the corner of the shit-covered squatter's den he's shacked up in, he won't notice the smell of rotting teeth and decaying heroin spoons. Not mine, I only do soft cereal like Krave (not a sponsor).
So with this level of pure devotion to my less-than-mediocre animation skills, I have managed to get one of the big animations out to render this week. Fully lip-synced and with all the charm of a psychopath's prison art. I am really happy about this. I also squeezed 45 renders in this week to close out the Max scene.
Charlie, You're Up. Time to Disappoint the Boys.
I still have the Charlie and Zoe scenes to write. I started on the Charlie scene and got a good way through it. Honestly, from an emotional perspective, if you are along for the ride with Charlie, I really think this moves their relationship forward this episode. I am not going to spoil anything here, but I am very excited to finish writing it and start the renders this week.
Okay, well, if you're still here, I also started one of 3 Evelyn animations that have to happen this update. Trust me when I say all these are narratively critical, otherwise I would not be doing this to myself. I'm tired, boss.
I started last night, and I have her core movement down. The lip sync and expressions. I am whizzing through this part, but there is a lot of work to do on this since it lands as a poignant plot point.
I hope you can tell just how excited I am for this update. I was getting to a point of frustration recently with the sheer scope of it, but I am chipping away at it with the devotion of a gambling addict at a hook-a-duck contest. I can't lose.
Right, I am going to take a wee nap before I start my night shift of keyframe adjustment. Boys, it's been real as always. This week's PSA comes direct from my wife.
Opens envelope
"The restraining order will not be lifted, and Mrs Bat requests that you stop sneaking through the window and crawling into bed at 4am."
Well, I'm not gonna lie, boys, that comes as a bit of a blow. I thought I was crawling into Maya's bed.
Anyway, have a good week.
Peace
Bat
