DEV LOG / EPISODE 4 / WEEK 21

You Make One Bat-Related Patient Zero Joke and You Get Thrown in a Room

What up, fellow healthy people... Okay, I'm gonna say it. I'm sick. Not in the "that was sick, bruv" type of way either. In the type of way that gets you a night on the sofa because Mrs Bat refuses to let me do cough syrup body shots.

So because of this and my vocabulary being limited to monosyllabic terms, I will make this as fast as my wedding night. I promise I won't pass out this time.

I got 145 renders done this week whilst clinging to my desk and speaking with a giant fluorescent badger claiming to be God. All while doing Benadryl like Jägerbombs. I tried to write something for Zoe, but I started crying because she was being really mean, and I'm sensitive right now, so that might have to wait until this ailment is vanquished.

I did start building out an environment I may or may not need for an animation last night before I realised it was 5am, I hadn't slept properly in over 24 hours, and I was mashing primitives together in Blender with all the effectiveness of a perforated condom.

So basically, I was more productive than I had any right to be last week. I'm still sick, but I will keep making the game since I find resting frankly mind-numbingly boring, and I'd rather pull off my toenails with a pair of Fisher-Price pliers.

It's November, and I am starting to get somewhat depressed about not having this episode wrapped up yet. We are currently sitting at 2,303 renders for the update. The thing is, I have the Zoe scene to do and a fair amount after that before I even talk about the animation backlog.

I contemplated just wrapping it up and delivering it after the date nights. Whilst that is a good thing because you get the episode sooner, it's not something I am comfortable with because it doesn't leave the story in the place I need it to be for the start of Episode 5.

This episode sets up the events that will lead to the series finale, and if I put it out sooner than I feel comfortable with, it's not going to hit in the way that I want.

Anyway, I am going to curl myself into a ball and hope the adult-strength cough syrup carries me to a place of tranquillity for a few hours.

Remember that even though it's No Nut November, peanuts are not technically nuts, so Snickers are still on the menu this month, boys.

Peace
Bat
