DEV LOG / EPISODE 3 / WEEK 10

Got to Keep Those Numbers Up!

January is nearly over, and I swear it has been a blur. I have been fully locked in, grinding away on this episode, surviving on sandwiches my good wife keeps bringing me and as much caffeine as the human body can reasonably tolerate. This episode keeps growing, but damn it, I am determined to get this thing out in a timely fashion, so I keep pushing.

Alright, enough whining. What did I actually do this week?

This week I focused hard on breaking the 1,000 render milestone for Episode 3, and I want to give a big thank you to my boy Rann for helping me push through that wall. I managed to hit it pretty early in the week. I also took my laptop to a housewarming party and sat in my best mate’s office writing script while people occasionally walked past and tried to work out who the quiet guy in the corner was. I had a great time, hung out with his dog, and got a solid chunk of writing done.

I also made more progress on the lip sync animation and have now hit the halfway point on that cinematic. My goal for this coming week is to push hard and try to finish it, as I still have other animations to work on and it feels like this one is starting to block overall progress. The challenge will be getting it finished while still keeping the render numbers climbing.

Episode 3 stats:
Renders: 1095
Animations: 7
Word count: 13,181

Quick plug for a friend. My good mate Classy Lemon recently dropped an update for his awesome game Projekt Passion. There is a slim chance you found me without already knowing about it, but on the off chance you have not played it yet, do yourself a favour and check it out. It is genuinely fantastic.

Alright, I am heading back into the cave to get back to work. I will surface again later this week with some special renders for you. Also, Zoe winning the poll honestly surprised me. Usually, Akari or Charlie take these, so it is great to see Zoe getting some love, especially with how much of her story is coming up in this episode.

Until next week, remember that I appreciate all of you.

Cheers,
Bat
