DEV LOG / EPISODE 4 / WEEK 8

Anything's a Dog if You're Brave Enough

What up, my fellow three seashell users. It's that time again. You knew it was coming, and if you're ill-prepared that's on you. So brace yourself, get on or off the shitter, whichever you prefer, and let's get down to business.

Well, what a week we've had. I got the rest of the voice acting back this week and holy shit I'm excited to get started. With the change I made last week, I'm still unsure if I have everything I need, but I sure have enough to get cracking for a while so I can worry about the ins and outs (if you get what I'm saying) later down the line. All in all though, it's good stuff and I'm super excited to get started on it.

I had some issues (what's new at this point?) with the animations rendering properly on the 5090. Some bollocks about drivers and Nvidia just fucking with me personally, I think. But I dealt with that shit and managed to get a cut of the animation together. So I cracked on, made some music for it, and then did the sound design thing. It came out really nice and I can't wait for this update. Especially now it's split in two, it means I can get a meaningful update out before the final installment (of season one) and continue building upon the story without sacrificing things due to timelines I imposed upon myself.

That's Numberwang

Who doesn't love fucking numbers? I got a fresh batch of numbers right here for you arithmetic fiends.

I created 3 environments this week, customised and updated 4 characters to fit the scenes, and here's the one you've all been waiting for...

120 renders.

Oh no he didn't.

Oh yes I fucking did.

Your boy remembered he's not making a movie and actually got some fucking stills done.

That means the update is currently sitting at 564 renders and... I forgot how many individual animations. Let's just call it 3 cut scenes because that makes life easier. Now enjoy those numbers whilst I go and make some more for you to gobble up next week.

Fairly cut and dry week. The only thing that sucks is I can't really give you previews of what I'm working on right now because it's huge fucking spoilers. I told Volos and Maya so I could get it off my chest, and they both now hate me for spoiling it for them, so just know...

You don't wanna know.

Well, that's all for this week's instalment of Bat and Friends.

Worth mentioning before I sign out that Origin Story just released on Steam. I haven't had the chance to play it yet, but I've heard nothing but good things. It's definitely at the top of my "want to play" list as soon as I get done with my own Steam release.

Sadly, I don't have time to play games yet, but let me know if it's good if you've played it... and please don't spoil it for me.

Remember that all mammals over 3 kg take approximately 21 seconds to empty their bladder. So if your time isn't clocking in correctly, you're either under 3 kg, or it might be time to get real friendly with your proctologist.

Cheers,

Bat
